The current system was created by the owning class to take advantage of the rest of us for their own financial gain. It must be replaced by democratic socialism, a system in which common people truly have a say in our communities, workplaces, and neighborhoods. The democratic path to socialism, in our opinion, has numerous branches. Authoritarian conceptions of socialism are relegated to the past by our vision, which goes beyond modern social democracy. We want a democracy that answers the big questions in our lives with everyone’s input and makes room for us all to thrive rather than just survive. The main economic forces that shape our lives, like transportation and energy production, are things we wish to jointly own. |

What is the DSA? The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) fight for a society governed by and for the working class, based on democratic socialism. They advocate for popular control of resources, economic planning, equitable distribution, feminism, racial equality, and non-oppressive relationships. Believing change must come from the bottom up, DSA organizes to harness working-class power against capitalist exploitation and systemic oppression. Our vision includes ending racial, gender, and economic oppression, acknowledging capitalism’s roots in slavery and Indigenous genocide. We emphasize uniting a multiracial working class, combating climate change, and dismantling neoliberalism’s legacy of inequality and individualism. We recognize that progress requires more than policy proposals; It demands collective power. To build a socialist future, they seek to expand their membership and forge strong coalitions. We do not want fear to separate the multiracial working class; rather, we want them to stand together in solidarity. We seek to implement “radical” reforms such as the Green New Deal, defunding the police and reinvesting in communities, single-payer Medicare for All, and more in order to move toward a more liberated society. Our mission: to transform society and win a better world. |
